Detailed Itinerary

DAY 1

Destinations: Arrive in Beijing

Today's Activities:
After your arrival in Beijing, you will be greeted by your Beijing local guide, who will then take you to your hotel.
Your local guide will suggest a restaurant option and shopping destination for the rest of the day.

DAY 2

Destinations: Beijing

Today's Activities: After breakfast, your local guide will pick you up at the hotel and accompany you to the Mutianyu Great Wall, the main section of the Great Wall that was reconstructed during the Ming Dynasty. In ancient times, it was used as a strategic point of defense. Cable car fee is not included.
After a Chinese lunch at a local restaurant, proceed to the Ming Tombs, the mausoleums of 13 emperors from the Ming Dynasty (1368 - 1644).
Enjoy a Beijing Roast Duck Dinner, considered to be one of the most delicious dishes in the world. A trip to Beijing would not be complete without trying it once!

DAY 3

Destinations: Beijing

Today's Activities: After breakfast, your local guide will pick you up at the hotel and accompany you to the Forbidden City, the architectural wonder and world-famous attraction that lies in the center of Beijing, north of Tian'anmen Square. It was home to 24 emperors in the Ming and Qing Dynasties during its five centuries of use.
Next proceed to Tian'anmen Square, which is the heart of modern China, is the symbol of the People's Republic, and the center of Beijing's landmarks. The flagstones of Tiananmen cover a staggering 440,000 square meters, enough space for a gathering of a million people.
After a Chinese lunch, proceed to the Temple of Heaven, one of Beijing's most impressive temples in terms of architecture and significance. The temple was used as a communication terminal for the Emperor to communicate directly with heaven.
Return to the hotel. Your local guide will suggest a restaurant option and shopping destination for the rest of the day.

DAY 4

Destinations: Bejing-Xi'an

Today's Activities: After breakfast, your local guide will pick you up at the hotel and accompany you on the Beijing Hutong Tour, which is a "must-see" attraction if you want to really get a feel for the rich history and culture of the city. Seeing the Beijing Hutongs today will show you the lifestyle and culture of historic Beijing.
After lunch, proceed to the famous shopping area, Wangfujing Street, where you will have free time until your local guide takes you to Beijing airport for your departure flight to Xi'an.
After your arrival in Xi'an, you will be greeted by your Xi'an local guide, who will then take you to your hotel.
Your local guide will suggest a restaurant option and shopping destination for the rest of the day.

DAY 5

Destinations: Xi'an

Today's Activities: After breakfast, your local guide will pick you up at the hotel and accompany you to see the Terracotta Warriors & Horses. There are about 8,000 of these warriors and horses, covering a massive area of 20,000 sq meters. This area is divided into three pits.
After a Chinese lunch at a local restaurant, proceed to Huaqing Hot Spring, situated 30 kilometers east of Xi'an at the foot of the Lishan Hills. The springs were a popular retreat with Emperors more than 2,500 years ago, many of whom enjoyed bathing in the crystal clear mineral water.
Next visit Banpo Museum, located on the north side of Banpo Village on a site that dates to the Neolithic period, over 6,000 years ago. This site was just recently discovered.
Then your guide will accompany you to enjoy a Chinese Dumpling Dinner.

DAY 6

Destinations: Xi'an-Guilin

Today's Activities: After breakfast, your local guide will pick you up at the hotel and accompany you to the Forest of Steles, which is a professional art museum that collects, studies, and displays various steles and stone sculptures.
Next proceed to the Big Wild Goose Pagoda, a famous Buddhist pagoda situated inside Da Ci'en Temple. The pagoda's structure is simple but very sturdy and is regarded as a masterpiece of Buddhist architecture.
After a Chinese lunch, proceed to the Ancient City Wall, which is the most complete ancient city wall in China. The city wall is based on old Tang Dynasty architecture and measures 12-14 meters across the top, 15-18 meters thick at the bottom, and 13.7 kilometers in length.
Your local guide will take you to Xi'an airport for your flight to Guilin.
After your arrival in Guilin, you will be greeted by your Guilin local guide who will then take you to your hotel. Your local guide will suggest a restaurant option and shopping destination for the rest of the day.

DAY 7

Destinations: Guilin-Yangshuo-Guilin

Today's Activities: After breakfast, your local guide will pick you up at the hotel and accompany you to see the Lijiang River, where you will take a cruise down the stretch that runs between Guilin and Yangshuo. This section of the river is one of the most famous places in China for tourists. Its banks have hills, cliffs, and caves that can be enjoyed from the comfort of a bamboo boat ride. The Lijiang River landscape has been compared to the hair of a beautiful woman and was described by the famous Chinese poet Hanyu as "a blue silk ribbon; the mountains resemble emerald hairpins".
After returning to shore, take a stroll on the famous Yangshuo West Street.
Return to Guilin. Your local guide will suggest a restaurant option and shopping destination for the rest of the day.

DAY 8

Destinations: Guilin-Kunming

Today's Activities: After breakfast, your local guide will pick you up and take you to see the Reed Flute Cave.
After a Chinese lunch at a local restaurant, proceed to Elephant Trunk Hill, situated on the western bank of the Lijiang River in south Guilin. It is shaped like an elephant that is dipping its trunk in the river.
Then proceed to Fubo Hill.
Your local guide will take you to Guilin airport for your departure flight to Kunming.
After your arrival in Kunming, you will be greeted by your Kunming local guide, who will then take you to your hotel. Your local guide will suggest a restaurant option and shopping destination for the rest of the day.

DAY 9

Destinations: Kunming

Today's Activities: After breakfast, your local guide will pick you up at the hotel and accompany you to Stone Forest, which belongs to the typical Karst geomorphology, consisting of innumerable bizarre-shaped ancient limestone cliffs and peaks created by wind and water erosion some 200 million years ago. In China this area is praised as the First Wonder under Heaven.
Drive back to Kunming on an ancient road. Along the way, stop and visit a traditional village.
Next visit the Bird and Flower Market. The market, along with the old houses that are well-kept in its immediate neighborhood, are now under Kunming's protection plan, as is the Old Town Quarter. Besides flowers and birds, the market also offers samples of traditional Chinese arts, wooden sculptures, bronzeware, Chinese knots, and more.
Return to the hotel. Your local guide will suggest a restaurant option and shopping destination for the rest of the day.

DAY 10

Destinations: Kunming-Dali

Today's Activities: After breakfast, your local guide will pick you up at the hotel and take you to Kunming airport for your departure flight to Dali.
After your arrival in Dali, you will be greeted by your Dali local guide and visit the Xizhou Bai Village. This village has a mixed population and cosmopolitan background. The Yan Family Courtyard House is a good example of traditional Bai architecture.
After lunch, proceed to Zhoucheng Village, which rests below Yulong Peak and has achieved considerable wealth through its dynamic agriculture and diversified industries, the most famous of which is the art of the tie-dye.Standing on the outskirts of old town are the Three Pagodas, which were constructed in the style of the Small Wild Goose Pagoda in Xi'an.
The rest of the day will be free for you to discover the Ancient City of Dali. Dali's Old Town, made of weathered gray granite, stands at 2,100 meters on a long, narrow rice plain between Cangshan Mountain and Erhai Lake.
Afterwards, come back to hotel.

DAY 11

Destinations: Dali-Lijiang

Today's Activities: After breakfast, your local guide will pick you up at the hotel and accompany you to Lijiang.
First visit Shaping Market, which is a local market that opens on every Monday. The local people come to the market from surrounding villages to exchange their daily wares, farming products, traditional clothes, or simply foods and vegetables.
Proceed to the Dayan Ancient City. Its center, Si Fang Jie, (Square Street), is shaped like an official ink stone, hence its name Dayan Town (Ink Stone Town). It enjoys a long history of over 800 years, and unlike most of the old towns in China, there are no city walls due to a superstitious belief of the local ruler whose family name is Mu, meaning "tree", when encircled by walls, would be Kun, meaning "besieged".
Return to the hotel, your local guide will suggest a restaurant option and shopping destination for the rest of the day.

DAY 12

Destinations: Lijiang

Today's Activities: After breakfast, your local guide will pick you up and accompany you to Black Dragon Pool. The pond provides you the opportunity of taking great pictures of the crystal clear pond with a backdrop of the Snow Mountains in the distance.
Then drive out to see the Jade Dragon Snow Mountains.
Visit Yuhu Village, a simple village of the Naxi ethnic minority and the location of the Former Residence of Dr. Joseph Rock. Dr. Rock, an Austro-American botanist and explorer who lived here off and on from 1922-1949, is best remembered for the introduction of innumerable plant species to the West and his rigorous works on Naxi ethnology.
Proceed to Baisha Village, where visitors can enjoy frescos that dateback to the Ming and Qing Dynasties.
Return to the hotel. Your local guide will suggest a restaurant option and shopping destination for the rest of the day.

DAY 13

Destinations: Lijiang

Today's Activities: After breakfast, your local tour guide will pick you up and accompany you to Stone Drum Village. On the way to Stone Drum you will see a dramatic view of the Yangtze's near-180-degree riverbend, where the wide, swift waters perform a miraculous about-face. For nearly 20 kilometers the river runs parallel to itself.
After lunch, proceed to Tiger Leaping Gorge, or Hutiaoxia, in Chinese. It is the Yangtze's best-known gorge after the Three Gorges in Sichuan and Hubei. Here, the Jade Dragon Snow Mountains and the Haba Snow Mountains lean close to each other while large volumes of torrents moving between them cuts deeper and deeper into the bottom of the gorge. In some places there is a drop of 3,000 meters to the water.

DAY 14

Destinations: Lijiang-Kunming-Shanghai

Today's Activities:
Your local guide will take you to Lijiang airport for your departure flight to Shanghai. You will need to transfer in Kunming.
When you arrive in Shanghai you will be greeted by your Shanghai local guide who will then take you to your hotel. Your local guide will suggest a restaurant option and shopping destination for the rest of the day.

DAY 15

Destinations: Shanghai

Today's Activities: After breakfast, your local guide will pick you up at the hotel and accompany you to Yuyuan Garden, which is a famous classical garden located in Shanghai's colorful and bustling Old Town.
Next, proceed to Chenghuang Market to try the famous Shanghai steamed soup dumplings as well as shop at the old antiques market. You are sure to find a great bargain here!
After lunch, visit the Bund, which is Shanghai's famous waterfront. It is also the symbol of Shanghai. Walking along the Bund, which is the west shore of the Huangpu River, you can see the Oriental Pearl TV Tower and the Jin Mao Tower across the river in Pudong. It is one of the top attractions in Shanghai.
Then proceed to China's first and foremost shopping street, Nanjing Road.
Return to the hotel. Your local guide will suggest a restaurant option and shopping destination for the rest the day.

DAY 16

Destinations: Depart Shanghai

Today's Activities:
Your local guide will take you to Shanghai airport for your departure flight.
